Other Conditions: Extramural funds. Appointments to begin May 2024 or soon thereafter. Renewal contingent upon availability of funds program needs and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Project implementation under the direction of the Principal Investigators and project staff with duties including but not limited to the following:- Assist with the implementation of federally funded STEM education projects designed to provide intervention services to secondary students and training to families educators and employers.
- Assist in mentoring students with disabilities throughout the programs and internships.
- Assist with the design and development of accessible printed or online materials presentation materials newsletters flyers videos and other custom educational materials including the illustration of concepts in a visually appealing and clear manner.
- Assist in maintaining a project website and updating content periodically on the website.
- Assist in implementing virtual training sessions.
- Assist with project promotion through social media channels or other means.
- Otherdutiesasassigned.
- Fulltime classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawaii Manoa.
- Experience in working for an educational project program or camp.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring students with or without disabilities.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in graphic design publications or media production using Adobe InDesign Photoshop Illustrator Canva or similar.
- Experience in maintaining a website and updating content on the website.
- Experience in hosting virtual meetings using Zoom or other means.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize plan and organize tasks and ability to work in a team or independently with minimum supervision.
Desirable Qualifications:- Have experiences with STEM activities.
- Familiarity with Filipino or Pacific Islander cultural values.
- Working experience in editing videos and adding subtitles to the videos.
- Knowledge and skills to create accessible materials.
- Experience in organizing online or inperson events.
- Workingexperience in publication design and knowledge about copyrightlawsandpracticesrelatingtopublicationforeducationalmaterials.
- Demonstratedabilitytocreateormodifydesigntobeage/grade/fieldappropriate.
- Experience with web programming (e.g. WordPress HTML5 CSS PHP JavaScript)
