Other Conditions: Extramural funds. Appointments to begin May 2024 or soon thereafter. Renewal contingent upon availability of funds program needs and satisfactory performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists Project implementation under the direction of the Principal Investigators and project staff with duties including but not limited to the following:

  • Assist with the implementation of federally funded STEM education projects designed to provide intervention services to secondary students and training to families educators and employers.
  • Assist in mentoring students with disabilities throughout the programs and internships.
  • Assist with the design and development of accessible printed or online materials presentation materials newsletters flyers videos and other custom educational materials including the illustration of concepts in a visually appealing and clear manner.
  • Assist in maintaining a project website and updating content periodically on the website.
  • Assist in implementing virtual training sessions.
  • Assist with project promotion through social media channels or other means.
  • Otherdutiesasassigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Fulltime classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawaii Manoa.
  2. Experience in working for an educational project program or camp.
  3. Experience in teaching or mentoring students with or without disabilities.
  4. Excellent writing and editorial skills communication skills and attention to detail.
  5. Experience in graphic design publications or media production using Adobe InDesign Photoshop Illustrator Canva or similar.
  6. Experience in maintaining a website and updating content on the website.
  7. Experience in hosting virtual meetings using Zoom or other means.
  8. Demonstrated ability to prioritize plan and organize tasks and ability to work in a team or independently with minimum supervision.

Desirable Qualifications:
  1. Have experiences with STEM activities.
  2. Familiarity with Filipino or Pacific Islander cultural values.
  3. Working experience in editing videos and adding subtitles to the videos.
  4. Knowledge and skills to create accessible materials.
  5. Experience in organizing online or inperson events.
  6. Workingexperience in publication design and knowledge about copyrightlawsandpracticesrelatingtopublicationforeducationalmaterials.
  7. Demonstratedabilitytocreateormodifydesigntobeage/grade/fieldappropriate.
  8. Experience with web programming (e.g. WordPress HTML5 CSS PHP JavaScript)
