Summary of Job Duties:

The Research Associate I will support the Center for Hearing Health Access team at UAMS. This role involves leading and assisting in qualitative research aimed at expanding hearing healthcare access in rural communities both nationally and internationally. Responsibilities include community engagement study coordination regulatory compliance qualitative data collection and dissemination of findings.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate critical thinking independence and a willingness to travel. Experience with community engagement conducting interviews and focus groups and qualitative data analysis is required.


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in health public policy global health anthropology audiology or related field plus five 5 years of qualitative research experience project coordination or related experience required.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills.

  • Experience using Canva for visual materials.

  • Knowledge of implementation science and mixedmethods research.

  • Strong scientific writing skills.

  • Experience working with underserved populations and familiarity with rural Alaska contexts.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate training in public health global health anthropology audiology or a related field.

  • Experience with digital health public health or healthrelated projects.

  • Proficiency with CLARA MAXQDA NVivo Atlas Ti SPSS MPlus SAS R STATA or REDCap.


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with community partners and recruit Community Advisory Board (CAB) members.

  • Organize and document CAB meetings and develop educational materials.

  • Facilitate project communication across institutions and time zones.

  • Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and manage submissions.

  • Conduct and support interviews focus groups and consent procedures. Maintain secure data systems and ensure data quality.

  • Analyze data prepare reports and assist with grant proposals.

  • Disseminate findings through presentations and publications.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
