Job Description
Develop and maintain working relationships with RED Service Center Directors and Staff. Maintain an accurate list of service center associated lab equipment and critical research equipment housed at MSU . Develop and maintain electronic inventory databases of research equipment accessible to MSU stakeholders. Assist service centers in ensuring applicable University policies and procedures are followed including but not limited to: Biosafety Chemical Safety Testing Service Agreements Procurement procedures. Develop and implement short and longrange goals for the standardization of common operations between service centers. Manage VPRED Facility Improvement Grant program. Develop and manage a system to collect facility and equipment improvement repair and acquisition requests prioritize requests and allocate funds. Identify and communicate external granting opportunities that support service centers. Support and lead the RED Sustainability Green Lab program to increase awareness and participation in lab sustainability efforts with the goal of protecting the environment and human health. Support and communicate MSUs Chemical Safety program initiatives to MSU labs.
Physical Demands
Position requires entering laboratory environments. Position requires ability to wear PPE such as safety glasses and goggles respiratory protection and protective coveralls.
