We currently have an opening in our Pickering Ontario location for aQuality Assurance Technician. This key position within our organization will report to the Shift Supervisor.
The ideal candidate will be a selfmotivated with a strong attentiontodetails and problem solving skills. In a busy work environment the ability to juggle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines is a necessity. This employee must be available to work both inside and outside positions on both day and night shift. There is heavy lifting involved due to the nature of our product
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aggregate gradation and Petrographic Analysis reports
- ASTM and CSA standards for concrete pavers slabs and segmental retaining walls.
- An excellent working knowledge of concrete admixtures for both dry and wet cast production.
- A sound background in quality control procedures for concrete production.
- A fundamental working knowledge of the application of coatings for concrete products.
- Liaison with various suppliers for the constant improvement of product quality and new technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Postsecondary education in related field of study would be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of concrete admix and landscaping preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or quality control
- Knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing Six Sigma
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office Skills (Excel Word Powerpoint)
- Math skills (including unit conversions and algebra)
- Report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Applicants must be able to pass a preemployment medical and background check
- A successful candidate must be clean shaven as part of Health & Safety requirement for PPE purposes.
