Description:
- The Cost Accountant Operations Finance role provides Financial and Accounting support for the Instrument Operations organization of client Biosciences.
- This will include developing interpreting and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control; supporting the Companys annual budget process including department spending manufacturing variances inventory capital and budget allocations; and performing financial analysis as needed to support and guide business decisions.
- This is an individual contributor role which offers development and growth opportunities for the right candidate.
Essential job responsibilities:
- Responsible for PPV detailed reporting supporting the BST meetings associated with Engineering Projects and partnering with the Sourcing and Cost to Win management teams to assist in PPV tracking and analysis.
- Supports the Companys annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes including Headcount Spending Manufacturing Variances Capital expenditures and Inventory.
- Assists in Inventory Management activities including but not limited to Excess and Obsolete analysis performing cycle count audits and preparing monthly Inventory reporting analysis.
- Supports the month end close process and the preparation of the Ops Package as well as the monthly Finance Reporting Package.
- Supports the costing of new parts and products as well as other Standard Costing activities as required.
- Responsible for the reviewing monitoring and understanding of work order variances.
- Keeps abreast of the basic requirements for compliance in own area of work and complies with those requirements.
- Participates as required in training on regulatory issues affecting own area of work.
- Brings regulatory compliance questions/issues to the attention of management.
Minimum qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance plus 3 to 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Understanding of cost accounting principles including standard costing and inventory management is required
- Financial Planning & Analysis experience is preferred but not required
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills required
