Job Description
Hire Resolves client in the petrochemical industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Cape Town.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for mechanical engineering design in the field of petrochemical projects.
- Perform mechanical engineering calculations designs drawings and solutions to engineering problems.
- Prepare reports liaise with clients and possess construction knowledge and commissioning abilities.
- Potential to lead as the head mechanical engineer and supervise junior staff members.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of piping and pumping systems.
- Competence in designing mechanical systems with knowledge of hydraulics.
- Experienced in preparing conceptual and detailed designs including drawings calculations project schedules cost estimates and datasheets.
- Familiarity with the tender processes related to mechanical projects.
- Construction experience regarding the installation of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of applicable mechanical engineering codes such as ASME API SANS etc.
- Ability to travel to site for inspections kickoff meetings and progress meetings.
- Proficient in client liaison concerning mechanical designs.
- Experience in commissioning mechanical systems and mentoring junior staff.
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical Industry preferred.
- Familiarity with NFPA and firefighting systems is advantageous.
