Job Description
TekCom Resources is looking for OSP Inspectors in the Belleville IL area. All work will be in and around Belleville so we are seeking candidates local to that area.
Our client provides business fiber internet and residential services with a plan to deploy fiber internet to 500000 homes and businesses across the US by 2026.
In this role you will inspect fiber installation work in the field and verify work is done according to specifications. You will perform pre and postinstallation QC work as well as supervising crews in the field in the process of installing fiber. Prior experience inspecting underground fiber projects is necessary. All work is currently underground with very limited aerial construction work.
Job Duties and Skills:
13 years of previous experience inspecting outside plant construction work
- Some experience supervising field crews performing installation work is preferred.
Inspecting quality and recording field records including review of OTDR results and Asbuilt drawings
Ensure compliance with bestconstruction practices of underground work
Knowledge of Underground Construction practices
Experience with GPS Data Collection of asBuilt facilities
Knowledge of AsBuilts redlines and project inspection guidelines
Knowledge/Understanding of Fiber and Splicing Maps
Helpful to Have:
Experience performing aerial plant engineering including make ready and pole loading analysis is a plus.
Experience with CAD design software to produce fiber designs and bill of materials (BOMs)
Understanding ofengineering budget; management ofpurchase orders and vendor invoices is helpful but not required
