Supervisor Purchasing

What will you do
- Manage and guide a team to achieve key supply chain metrics and improve supplier performance.
- Conduct quarterly business reviews with senior leaders to determine goals develop project plans and review performance.
- Provide leadership by demonstrating process improvement values.
- Lead initiatives to improve EDI accuracy with suppliers.
- Develop strategies to reduce backlog and drive revenue recognition.
- Quantify and measure actual versus encouraged results reacting to trends to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve processes and drive balanced corrective actions.
- Coordinate supplier service and operational performance to meet internal targets and customer expectations.
- Lead Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) calls with suppliers.
- Supervise the creation of performance improvement plans detailing root causes actions taken and recovery dates.
- Conduct standup meetings to address crossfunctional issues.
- Apply Microsoft Office tools and data mining tools for tracking key supply chain metrics.
- Support excess and obsolete inventory objectives through supplier negotiations.
- Find opportunities in People Process and Technology to inspire change and efficiency.
- Manage inventory replenishment processes and exceptions.
- Build productive internal and external relationships.
- Lead ad hoc or special projects to benefit the group.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Logistics Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 4 years experience in supply chain purchasing or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous people management or supervision experience.
- Supplier/vendor management experience.
- APICS certification (CPIM CIRM CSCP).
- Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent experience.
- Experience with SQL Server COGNOS or other data mining tools.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Strong customer service focus.
- Proficiency in Excel Access Word PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong problemsolving and reasoning skills.
