Job Description
Job Summary
Vertiv is currently seeking a Product Specialist for the Software and Digital Solutions portfolio. Theideal candidatewill demonstrate a good understanding of software and networking in the data center and edge markets and leverage their experience in delivering and supporting management solutions to the marketplace. This is a key emerging role within the organization and the ideal candidate will work closely with our Offer Management team as well as the Software sales and Support organizations to deliver solutions that solve real customer problems.
This position will be based onsite in Westerville OH.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Offer Managers to define and prioritize product features and requirements for our portfolio of software and management product solutions
- Understand user needs and integrate them into the product roadmap
- Collaborate with developers to ensure product features are accurately implemented
- Collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams including engineering services product marketing and sales. Act as the first line of support for these teams in regards to product capabilities and messaging
- Work in partnership with the Offer Managers to help define aspects of commercialization plans such as sales training customer training resources and field competency for successful handoff and backing of field teams
- Analyze data to validate product goals and work with the Offer Managers to adapt strategies accordingly
- Test and validate delivered product features based on user stories
- Conduct competitive research including installing and configuring competitive solutions and generating competitive analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Business or related
- 2 to 4 years of experience in product management
- Software and networking competency a must
- Effective collaboration skills with software development sales and support teams
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Preferred BSc degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with agile methodologies is a plus
- Preferred Qualifications:
- 24 years related work experience in launching supporting and marketing software solutions.
- Experience with formal product development processes with a track record of applying rigor to drive to commercial success.
- Knowledge of the data center and/or edge infrastructure market.
- Experience marketing to data center and IT professionals
- Demonstrated effectiveness working in cross functional teams both local and remote with effective ability communicating product strategy driving stakeholders to shared vision and goals
- Excellent communication ability in written verbal and in live presentation settings
- Ability to convey technical information at the appropriate level of detail depending on the context (g. published collateral customer presentations sales training material senior management reviews)
- Ability to travel approximately 20 including international travel
- Excellent organization and time management skills
