  • Villa Academy is an inclusive independent school community dedicated to developing the whole child in the Cabrinian tradition of education of the heart. Through dynamic inquirybased learning Villa students become active agents of their own intellectual growth in preparation for lives of service and purpose.

    Villa Academy seeks a full time Fourth Grade Teacher to join its team beginning August 19 2025. This educator will be creating a supportive engaging and inclusive classroom environment that fosters both academic and socialemotional growth. Beyond the classroom they will have access to our multiacre outdoor space with wooded trails a garden an outdoor learning pavilion and a greenhouse. This is a tenmonth salariedexempt position that follows the academic calendar reporting to the Director of Lower School.

    The ideal candidate is a passionate educator with a deep understanding of Fourth Grade particularly in fostering skill development. This candidate will bring enthusiasm expertise and a commitment to engaging studentcentered learning. They will be attuned to the developmental needs of young learners appreciating both their growth and unique needs. Additionally this candidate will excel at managing multiple projects simultaneously and enjoy collaborating with fellow educators.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Teach one of two dedicated Fourth Grade classes.
    • Design and deliver engaging inquirybased lessons that align with the Fourth Grade curriculum and standards including Common Core NGSS SSSI and Learning for Justice ensuring they meet the diverse needs of all learners.
    • Guide students in developing essential skills such as critical thinking problemsolving and collaboration.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies that foster respect inclusion and positivity incorporating Villa Academys socialemotional learning and antibias curriculum.
    • Work closely with the rest of the Lower School team to support students development and ensure they are wellprepared for success in Fifth Grade.
    • Incorporate socialemotional learning into daily instruction to help students develop selfregulation empathy and problemsolving skills.
    • Establish clear expectations for behavior and cultivate a safe respectful and nurturing classroom environment.
    • Effectively partner and communicate with families colleagues and administration to appropriately challenge and support students.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
    • Integrate technology and handson activities to enhance learning experiences.
    • Regularly assess evaluate and provide feedback on student performance.
    • Participate in faculty/staff grade level and division meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
    • Commit to the mission vision and values of Villa Academy.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A Bachelors degree in Elementary Education or a related field; Masters degree and/or teaching credential preferred.
    • 3 years of teaching experience with elementaryaged students.
    • Indepth understanding of and experience with inquirybased learning in early childhood education settings.
    • Passion for working with Fourth Grade students with a deep understanding of their developmental needs and learning styles.
    • Proven ability to implement effective classroom support strategies and foster positive relationships with young learners particularly through the Responsive Classroom approach.
    • Experience with and appreciation for Zones of Regulation and Second Step as well as a solid foundation in interdisciplinary STEAMfocused and projectbased learning.
    • Dedication to fostering socialemotional growth by supporting selfregulation empathy and problemsolving skills.
    • Experience with and appreciation for purposeful play as well as a solid foundation in interdisciplinary STEAMfocused and projectbased learning.
    • Desire to utilize outdoor spaces to introduce children to nature and facilitate connections between them and their environment.
    • Proficiency with instructional technology including document cameras interactive whiteboards webbased learning software and Google apps.
    • Excellent communication skills to support working with students families faculty/staff and campus partners.
    • Positive energy and enthusiasm for working in a Preschool through Eighth Grade faithbased independent school.
    • A commitment to ongoing professional growth curiosity cultural humility and antiracism as well as an understanding of its critical role in academic excellence and student growth.

    SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
    Anticipated salary ranges between
    $53561..22/year dependent upon education and experience. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity internal salary ranges market data applicants skills and prior relevant experience degrees and certifications.
