Commercial Construction Estimator (GBA Builders)
GBA Builders provides construction management and consulting services to clients in the Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical and Biotech manufacturing) Mission Critical Federal and Industrial markets. We work closely with our architectural and engineering affiliate company GBA in a design/build relationship to add value to our clients. Our focus is on complex projects in regulated markets. We are seeking a candidate to join our growing team in our Lenexa KS office.
Responsibilities:
- Estimate both conceptual designs and complete designs
- Quantity takeoff and cost estimating
- Assist design team with budget estimates at various stages in design development
- Solicit scope out and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids for incorporation into overall project proposals
- Assist with the development updating and implementation of an estimating database with assemblies
- Maintain a cost history data base
- Review estimates with design team and/or construction team
- Interact with clients and design team as needed to evaluate conceptual and detailed estimates
- Assist with project buyout and budget set up once projects are awarded
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree required Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- At least 5 years of commercial estimating for general construction experience
- Life Sciences Federal and/or Mission Critical market experience is a plus but not required
- Conceptual estimating is a plus
- Designbuild experience is a plus
- Partnership approach to working with architects and engineers
- Hands on construction experience
- Excellent Excel knowledge
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be a team player
