Property Accounting Manager Growing Real Estate Firm
- Location: Chicago IL
- Schedule: Hybrid 23 days in office) MUST be located in the Greater Chicago area
A reputable real estate firm in Chicago is seeking a Property Accounting Manager to join their team. The Property Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing property accounting financials managing monthend close processes conducting variance analysis and providing leadership to staff members. We are looking for candidates with strong attention to detail knowledge of GAAP and a proactive attitude towards problemsolving.
What You Will Do:
- Manage and oversee the property accounting team.
- Review and analyze journal entries and financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments on financial reporting.
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and training on accounting policies.
- Review bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Handle ad hoc projects as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of accounting experience in real estate
- 13 years of management experience required
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Masters preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP compliance.
- Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
- Experience with Yardi/Entrata preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
