The team is seeking a Property Accountant to play a critical role in managing the financial operations of their apartment portfolio. This hybrid position is based nearWheeling IL requiring inoffice collaboration on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Property Financial Management: Prepare and maintain financial statements for assigned properties including balance sheets income statements and performance analyses.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations for property accounts and ensure all entries are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
- Cash Management: Monitor and track propertylevel cash flow ensuring timely of payments cash distributions and capital calls.
- Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals prepaids and other propertyspecific transactions.
- Budget Support: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets forecasts and variance analyses for assigned properties.
- Audit Assistance: Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.
- Collaborative Communication: Work closely with onsite property managers corporate personnel and investors to address daytoday accounting needs and inquiries.
- System Utilization: Support the setup and maintenance of property accounting systems including Yardi to streamline financial reporting processes.
- Acquisition & Disposition: Contribute to the financial transition process during property acquisitions and sales by reviewing financial documentation and assisting with system updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 25 years of property accounting or real estate accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of propertylevel financial operations and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication organizational and analytical skills.
