Job Description

Addison Northwest School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE certified Special Educator to support students with a variety of special needs for the FY26 school year. Experience integrating K3 students with emotional/behavioral challenges into classroom life. Social/sensory skills are a plus.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following and other duties may be assigned.
  • Have the ability to work with both general and special educators to instruct and support students with multiple disabilities.
  • Must have the ability to develop modify and accommodate curriculum to address the needs of students with a variety of developmental challenges.
  • The ability to implement modified curriculum within the classroom setting as well as in a pull out setting.
  • The ability to follow a behavioral plan as needed for students success within the mainstream setting. A
  • strong background in both literacy and math instruction at the early grades and ages.
  • Have the ability to be flexible and be a team player.
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written are a must.
  • Ability to supervise and effectively schedule paraeducators
