Each year it admits 90 students per cohort. One of the key attractions of this program is its technological advancements which enable teaching across five geographic locations: South Florida Palm Beach Orlando Ocala and Gainesville. The
program offers a comprehensive and rigorous education in nurse anesthesia making it one of the top Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) programs in the nation.
This position is hybrid.
Salary commensurate with credentials and experience
This position delivers lectures in chemistry advanced pharmacology and advanced pathophysiology toentrylevel Doctor of Nursing Practice with specialization in anesthesiology. The qualified fulltime faculty candidate will be expected to:
Teach advanced principles of pharmacology including pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamicsmechanisms of action drug interactions and effectiveness of anesthetic.
Plan organize teach and provide feedback to promote and direct student success. Respond tostudents promptly. Communicate with students departments and university officials viauniversityprovided tools and resources.
Contribute to the diversity cultural sensitivity and excellence of the University communitythrough teaching in a hybrid format using webmediated conferencing
Educate nurse anesthetist students in pharmacology across a threeyear curriculum.
Create educationally appropriate assessment questions for anesthesiology topics.
Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and campus committees.
Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical and scientific knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the student and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
Other duties as assigned by the program administrator.
PharmD MD and/or Ph.D. in Pharmacology or a related field. Qualified physicians pharmacist or nurse anesthetists will also be considered.
A minimum of one 1 year teaching experience is required preferably in a medical school or a health science education setting.
Proven experience in teaching basic science is required.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Experience in active learning is preferred.
Experience in a collaborative approach to education is preferred.
