Job Description

Responsibilities include assisting clients in obtaining employment by linking clients with jobs and educational/training opportunities and the development of community contacts and resources for jobs and training.

  1. Develop resource file and inventory of prospective employers based on analysis of local workforce needs/opportunities and clients skills and work experience.
  2. Establish and maintain contacts with employers and other groups potentially interested in hiring clients as well as other communitybased organizations promoting job development.
  3. Develop resource files on educational opportunities for clients including Adult Basic Education (ABE) GED vocational training apprenticeships onjob training and two and fouryear colleges.
  4. Conduct career counseling and vocational assessments.
  5. Meet with each unemployed client according to the established guidelines in the phase system to assess employment and training prospects and assist in formulating workrelated goals and strategies; continue provision of assistance in linking clients with potential employers and training resources.
  6. Conduct telephone job verification for all clients in accordance with funding source requirements.
  7. Notify the funding source in writing of each clients employment.
  8. Visit all work sites in accordance with funding source requirements.
  9. Conduct job readiness and job retention classes.
  10. Participate in all team meetings.
  11. Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with funding source requirements and policies and procedures.
  12. Interact with clients staff and outside contacts with respect and courtesy.
  13. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with administrative policies and procedures.
  14. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings supervisory conferences and training sessions.
  15. Any duties assigned by Supervisor.
