ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF NEW TESTAMENT
JOB OPENING:August 2025
JOB TITLE: Assistant/Associate Professor of New Testament
DEPARTMENT: Department of Theology and Global Church Ministries at Evangel University (EU). The position will begin in August 2025.
CLASSIFICATION:This is a fulltime residential tenuretrack position based on a ninemonth contract. Summer teaching loads may be negotiated as a separate contract.
JOB SUMMARY:The assistant/associate professor of New Testament will fill a regular rotation of NT Greek as well as various departmental courses such as NT literature theology and book studies. Teaching load may include core courses offered by the department and candidates with training in pastoral theology may teach occasional courses in practical theology
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The teaching load currently consists of 2730 credit hours per contracted year of undergraduate courses. The applicant will facilitate student learning in accordance with established curriculum and advise students relative to their academic progress. This position also includes full participation in faculty meetings and assigned committees as well as adherence to Evangel University and department policies and procedures in the Faculty Handbook and the Faculty Contract.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in NT studies. In addition the candidate must hold credentials with the Assemblies of God (or transferable from another Pentecostal denomination). Experience in churchrelated vocations would be preferable. Preference will be given to candidates familiar with the growth of NT studies in the Pentecostal tradition.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills (oral and written).
- Keen interest and capacity for currenttechnologies that support teaching scholarship and learning.
- Passion for scholarship in the field of study.
- Commitment to the vision of the departmental and university mission excellence in teaching service and scholarship.
- Commitment to standards forconduct commensurate withAG credentialed ministers and a liberal arts university in the Pentecostal tradition.
