Job Description Summary
This position provides instruction in Early Childhood Education and Teacher Preparation and advising for students pursing the following Associate Degrees and their related Certificates: Early Childhood: Teacher Licensure Early Childhood: NonLicensure Early Childhood: Workforce Associate of Arts in Teacher Preparation and Associate of Science in Teacher Preparation.
Duties
Maintains mastery of subject matter. Develops and/or teaches courses for which the appropriate credential is held. Teaches in various formats various locations and via various delivery methods. Advises students. Adheres to policies procedures expectations and practices of the College the department and discipline. Communicates clearly with students other faculty and staff. Contributes to a safe and secure campus environment. Enforces Code of Classroom Conduct and Code of Student Conduct. Assists with program reviews program accreditation and SACSCOC accreditation as appropriate. Attends meetings and events and actively participate on committees and taskforces. Attends the annual commencement ceremony. Upholds the College Vision Mission Values and RISE statement. Supports diversity in all aspects. Establishes or upholds learning outcomes that are relevant and meaningful. Evaluates student progress in a fair consistent and timely manner. Develops prepares and/or delivers all levels of curriculum courses. Completes required professional development annually. Develop strong partnerships with appropriate community stakeholders in support of program and college improvement. Participates in and attends community stakeholder meetings and committees as assigned. Stays current with developments in the field of education (birth grade 12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at a community college. Five years of fulltime or equivalent direct experience with teaching children (birthage 5. Experience as a supervisor in an education (birthage 5 setting. Previous or current state teacher licensure in any area. Experience with the North Carolina teacher licensure requirements. Completion of LETRS training for early childhood or elementary education. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish an East Slavic language and/or American Sign Language.
