POSITION SUMMARY
The Fabricator tends to fabrication machines such as cutoff saws shears rolls brakes presses forming machines spinning machines benders and punch. These machines cut shape and bend metal plates sheets tubes and structures.
The Fabricator tends to all machinery tools and hardware used in the fabrication of interior exterior signage and if needed the crates they are shipped. The equipment used cut shape bend punch and fasten many materials such as but not limited to aluminum plastics and wood. Lifting and shifting of materials and finished signage is required and can be with the assistance of other Fabricators or shop Supervisors if asked by Fabricator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Operating Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment; reading job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Setting stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale rule template or proof
• Use of computer software for any workflow or manufacturing process
• Observing machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction
• Measuring workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Removing burrs sharp edges rust or scale from workpiece
• Setting up and/or performing any and all minor or major machine maintenance on fab and machine shop machines
• Operating any equipment needed to perform job
