Position Duties:
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut and shape sheet metal for duct and fittings.
- Open shop daily.
- Check shop inbox daily to review the need for emergency fittings.
- Complete all shop fittings on or under budgeted labor hours.
- Assist with preparing job estimates and other projects as needed.
- Assist other shop personnel with completing shop fittings on a timely basis.
- Ensure all fittings are ready by 7:30 AM for smooth dispatch of work crews.
- Keep all machinery and equipment maintained and fully operational.
- Ensure that anyone entering the shop fabrication area has proper eye protection and follows all company safety policies.
- Complete paperwork to record all hours and materials used per job and submit to accounting department.
- Review schedule for upcoming jobs to confirm that all shop lists have been turned in for fabrication notifying shop foreman if lists are missing.
- Maintain required levels of shop stock items informing warehouse staff of any shop stocking items needed.
- Assist warehouse staff if needed with stocking pilling jobs or deliveries.
- Keep the entire shop area neat organized and free of scrap and debris.
- Help maintain profitability within the shop.
