Job Description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a proven executive for the role of Director of Business Development to lead growth across the Fourth Estate agencies. This role is primarily focused on the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) with some limited support for Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in identifying and winning new business and in leading business development teams in capturing targeted programs in the Fourth Estate markets. It is important for the candidate to have experience building a robust targeted pipeline of opportunities that will drive growth and ensure that goals are met. Critical skill sets include strong strategic planning abilities and an unrelenting focus on winning business with a record of big wins with the above customers. It is also important that the candidate is well connected with current customer key personnel and has established relationships within DoD Fourth Estate community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and leverage resources to create identify develop and qualify opportunities.
  • Achieve growth goals through winning new business securing contract recompetes and driving organic program growth.
  • Develop and maintain an active pipeline of opportunities in alignment and consistent with corporate strategy and goals.
  • Primary interface with customer community building customer relationships through effective communications with both internal and external customer bases.
  • Develop and execute strategies to shape requirements and acquisition strategies.
  • Identify and target new business markets adjacencies and partnerships.
  • Embrace the Peraton Business Acquisition Process in daily activities and effectively communicate all the opportunities and plans for management and technical teams.
  • Assist in guiding potential customers by demonstrating technology solutions architectures capabilities and potential acquisition paths for earlystage opportunities working with internal technical and program management teams to develop responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) market surveys white papers presentations briefings and major event demonstrations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 16 years of experience or Masters Degree plus 14 years of experience or PhD plus 10 years of experience; additional experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Fourth Estate Agencies markets and the changing environments of the developments inside the domain
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing longterm vision and direction for an organization.
  • Considerable customer engagement experience with key accounts like DISA and DMDC in establishing relationships executing call plans identifying objectives and maintaining strong customer satisfaction.
  • Experience leading large $50M business pursuits through a business acquisition process going through opportunity identification qualification and capture phases.
  • A successful record of supporting and winning contracts with DISA and DMDC customers.
  • Proven experience in building relationships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub)
  • Ability to develop and mature key relationships within customer organizations.
  • Ability to operate independently but still retain an enterprise focus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of customer needs to align Peratons capabilities and core values Proven ability to structure key partnerships and alliances and to establish and grow new relationships (critical success factors)
  • Must demonstrate high energy integrity strong business acumen professionalism and commitment.
  • Highly effective communicator to all levels within the company and with customers to include senior executives.
  • Demonstrated experience with the maze of rules regulations and idiosyncrasies that drive the capture process.
  • Minimum Secret security clearance

Desired

  • Experience selling Enterprise IT Solutions and Services with ability to communicate benefits and differentiation.
  • Experience with DOD and Component level mission objectives
  • Experience growing pipeline and awards consistently
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
