Position: Territory Director (District Director)

Position Overview

This Territory Director (District Director) will serve St. Louis Missouri. The Territory Director (District Director) serves as a member of a twoperson team that serves and operates a district. Together they are responsible for the effective organization operation and promotion of the council program within the district. Each team member is responsible for the achievement of district objectives including the goals and works with volunteer staff to fulfill their functions and facilitate the optimum collaboration between the district and the council.

Responsibilities
  • Recruits develops and maintains an effective volunteer management team.
  • Maintains a professional working climate that attracts keeps and motivates topquality volunteers.
  • Assures the district has a longrange strategy that achieves its mission and makes consistent progress.
  • Assures that the flow of funds from the district helps the council to achieve its mission.
  • Serves as the chief district spokesman for the council to ensure that the council is properly represented.
  • Provides leadership to other professional staff in the district.
  • Other jobrelated duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal written communication and verbal presentation skills.
  • Proven FOS success and skills in community organization. Individuals should understand the process to identify potential upperlevel prospects and have the skill set to engage other volunteers to approach potential prospects.
  • Ability to manage current highfunctioning Family Campaign Division.
  • Ability to supervise staff utilizing effective backdating and work scheduling.
  • Effective in managing membership and new unit organization to achieve growth consistently with attention to retention of units and youth.
  • Ability to manage functioning districts at a high level of operation and utilize effectively the annual nominating committee process.
  • Prior experience in Scouting is preferred.
  • Well organized detail oriented and polished staff leadership skills.
  • Thrives in a fastpaced environment with passionate and committed people.
  • Excellent analytic skills with a proven commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
  • Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Must possess a focus on continuous improvement and growth both within the organization and with self.
  • A flexible schedule is frequently required for evening/weekend events.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Outlook Word Excel and PPT) preferred.
  • Team player positive attitude and willing to learn.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States of America and commission from the Boy Scouts of America.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to be insured.
  • Outstanding written interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailoriented adaptable organized and able to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to work independently set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Excellent computer and database skills. Familiarity with Blackbaud or a similar CRM.
  • Must be available to work some evenings weekends and extended hours for meetings and events.
