Responsibilities
- While adhering to legal and regulatory requirements make sure that current nursing policies and procedures follow operational guidelines and nursing practice standards.
- Communicate with outside organizations to uphold and foster positive working relationships and excellent resident care and service standards.
- Determine control and minimize risk in collaboration with the director of nursing. Take the lead in clinical governance and actively participate in the nursing homes overall governance.
- Assume accountability for making frequently intricate and challenging judgments on resident care potential problems in the assisted living facility and the ability to effectively handle these circumstances.
- By coordinating the care and interventions offered by other interdisciplinary team members adopt a collaborative approach to resident care. Communicate with outside organizations to guarantee that high-quality care is provided.
- In order to guarantee that residents and their families are properly informed and involved regarding care needs act as an advocate for them.
- Work together with the interdisciplinary team residents and their families to support proper planning and care continuity.
Requirements
- A registered nurse must be fully registered with the NMBI.
- Either a post-graduate degree at least Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications which includes a Management or Leadership module or a level 8 certification in health or a related profession.
- A postgraduate degree in gerontology is ideal.
- A minimum of three years of experience managing nursing care for the elderly.
- Outstanding communication and organizing abilities.
- Show that you can provide residents with the best possible person-centered care.
- Be capable of adhering to all health and safety regulations in keeping with hospital policy as well as any new initiatives or processes that the hospital may establish.
