Job Description
Sparrow at Moxy St Petersburg has arrived!!! We are looking for experienced dynamic people to join the opening crew for the Sparrow rooftop lounge of the Moxy St Petersburg Downtown. Sparrow is an upscale intimate urban rooftop designed with adventure in mind. Moxy is a chic modern and edgy brand so we need a likeminded crew for the Sparrow Rooftop Lounge opening in Dec 2024. We are looking for cocktail servers who are sophisticated and fun with experience in upscale settings.

Job Summary
The Company operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week so operational demands require variations in shift days starting and ending times and hours worked in a week.
Sparrow is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for VIP clients with a warm and enjoyable atmosphere thorough menu knowledge and gracious hosting. Our Cocktail Servers are responsible for ensuring that food beverages and guest experiences are all served up with the Moxy essence of NOW & WOW.
General Requirements
- Provide excellent service to Sparrow guests including cocktails food and bottle service. Personifies the brand pillars: stylish playful chic and a little edgy.
- Consistently adheres to all company service and operating standards
- Handles customer complaints and if necessary solicits involvement and support from supervisor
- Maintain an uptodate knowledge of Company events and promotions and be able to answer customers questions accordingly
- Follows established company and departmental appearance standards including uniform hygiene and general appearance guidelines at all times
- Take food and beverage orders from guests enter orders in our pointofsale system before taking item to the table. Make specific recommendations that guests will enjoy
- Must be able to open wine bottles with ease and confidence while at the same time communicating with your guests at the table
- Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter
- Perform side work during each shift as required by service station assignment
- Complete opening and closing checklists
- Maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
- Monitor and observe guests dining experience
- Prepare final bill present check to guest accept payment and process through the POS system
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow cocktail servers before they ask
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- Over 1 year of related experience in a chic upscale lounge
- An understanding of liquor tiers top shelf liquors and bottle service is required
- Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
- Excellent communication and hosting skills
- Excellent teamwork required
- Willingness to work evenings/nights/weekends
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Work is normally performed in an interior hotel environment. While performing job duties the associate speaks listens completes documents processes requests and operates office equipment such as a telephone calculator computer copier and fax. Physical requirements include extended periods of standing and/or walking bending reaching pulling pushing kneeling and lifting up to 30 pounds. The job requires close vision with or without corrective lenses
