Currently filling positions in our 7 Early Learning programs around Indianapolis and surrounding areas. The TEACHERindependently manages their classroom supervises additional support staff in their classroom executes YMCA early learning curriculum and establishes positive relationships with children and their families. Our teachers work as a part of a larger team at each YMCA center to develop the best program for the community. This is the perfect role for those who want to take the next step in their early learning career for former teachers looking to utilize their skills in a different environment or professionals in early learning looking for an environment in which they can grow. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to apply.

Know How:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood education of completed requirements for the CDA Certification with on year experience in early childhood education
  • Knowledge of children ages 16 and an understanding of their needs and development
  • Knowledge in early learning curriculum specifically ageappropriate crafts music literature and group activities
  • Experience in supervising children staff and handling conflict situations with parents and staff
  • Capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding personal information on children family and YMCA staff
