Summary/Objective

Global Widget is seeking a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations and manage a team of purchasing professionals in a fastpaced supplement manufacturing organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing highquality raw materials negotiating contracts managing supplier relationships and ensuring the timely and costeffective procurement of goods and services. This role requires strong leadership strategic thinking and indepth knowledge of supply chain management particularly in the dietary supplements or pharmaceutical industries.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Management

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with the organizations goals and production needs.
  • Identify and source highquality raw materials and ingredients to meet regulatory and production standards.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts to secure optimal pricing quality and delivery terms.
  • Analyze market trends to identify costsaving opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
  • Implement effective internal controls. Analyze stock reports to identify areas of excess and areas of need.
  • Establish departmental guidelines and policies to support accurate production related entries in companys system for proper costing and invoicing.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead mentor and manage a team of purchasing professionals ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Set performance goals provide regular feedback and conduct performance reviews.
  • Foster a collaborative and highperformance work environment promoting skill development and growth within the team.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality standards and timely deliveries.
  • Address and resolve supplierrelated issues including delivery delays or quality discrepancies.

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including production quality assurance and sales to align procurement with production schedules.
  • Provide information to internal customers for pricing proposals
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as FDA GMP and other industry standards.
  • Oversee procurement budgets and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience with at least 2 years in a management role preferably in the supplement pharmaceutical or food manufacturing industries.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of driving team performance.
  • Indepth knowledge of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in procurement software (e.g. SAP Oracle or similar ERP systems).
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the supplement or pharmaceutical industries.
