- Safety
- Work Orders and Daily Tasks
- Troubleshooting
- Equipment
- Communication and Software
- Industrial Rigging Principles and Practices
- Welding Principles
- Hydraulics Pneumatics Bearings and Lubrication
- Piping Systems
- Power Trnasmission Equipment
What Youll Do
- Demonstrate safe work practices and behaviors. Regularly inspect for report and correct unsafe or hazardous conditions. Actively participate in the site Safety Program
- Demonstrate these skills and processes as training progresses by producing results independently or on a team to undertake tasks as instructed while increasing overall contribution to the department
- Maintain communication with coworkers through twoway radio and hand signals
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Observe learn and understand a wide range of skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical personnel
- Test troubleshoot and repair equipment to maximize safe and productive operations
- Use a large array of hand and power tools precision measuring instruments and test equipment
What Youll Need
- Basic personal computer and corporate standard software skills (MS Word Excel) are required
- Depending on business needs or personal interest apprentices may be placed on a 12hour shift rotation (days and nights)
- Exposure to heat dust fumes and mists uneven surfaces loud noise heights confined spaces poor lighting conditions material products and byproducts associated with the manufacturing of steel
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Good troubleshooting and problemsolving skills are required
- Must be a selfstarter with the ability to follow directions and work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Must be dedicated to learning the trade and willing to put in the extra time and effort to build knowledge and gain experience
- Must manage time appropriately meeting hard deadlines
- Required to climb stairs ladders and scaffolding to access elevations able to crouch for periods of time push pull lift and turn while carrying tools material and equipment in various parts of the facility
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable working in a multidiscipline environment

- High School Diploma or GED required
