Position Description: Student Financial Services seeks a Personal Financial Aid Counselor to join our Student Financial Services team at Oklahoma Christian University. In this role you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to students and families navigating the financial aid process and ensuring compliance with federal state and institutional regulations. The Personal Financial Aid Counselor will report directly to the Director of Student Financial Services.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive financial aid counseling to students and families Process financial aid applications verify documentation and ensure accuracy of student financial aid records Maintain a knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures Communicate effectively with students parents and other stakeholders providing timely and accurate information. Maintain accurate and uptodate records in the financial aid system. Identify and resolve financial aid issues ensuring timely and effective solutions for students and families. Monitor account balances and collect student accounts receivable Maintain compliance with federal and university policies Establish and maintain relationships with students and parents Communicate with students the process of accepting federal awards Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Financial Aid
Qualifications:
Good computer skills and ability to learn new technology Strong organizational and time management skills. Good communication interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to develop knowledge of respect for and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds Ability to learn and understand federal regulations for financial aid Ability to act independently as well as part of a team Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
