Overview
Are you an engineer with a passion for APIs and programming technologies and sharing your passion with other developersCome to work for the global leader in geographic information systems and have a direct impact helping developers address todays biggest challenges like climate change disaster response biodiversity smart cities and much more. Blend your passion for writing awesome code and explaining how it works to help us provide a better developer experience focused on locationaware APIs geography maps data analysis and science. Help us improve our sample apps developer documentation and developer outreach by working on a cuttingedge team with product engineers technical writers and other stakeholders to help write and edit developerfocused web pages help topics tutorials API references and supporting materials.
Responsibilities
- Write code examples apps and tutorials to help explain ArcGIS APIs and software development patterns
- Collaborate with other Esri developers product management sales and solutions teams to understand market demands developer requirements product offerings and demonstrate and advocate on behalf of the developer community
- Collaborate with API teams to create update and maintain product documentation code sample tutorials new ideas and experiment with new APIs
- Write technical concept topics and developerfocused product documentation
- Understand customer (developer) needs and translate that into actionable code and documentation improvements
- Write blogs record videos and participate in customer outreach activities to help developers successfully integrate ArcGIS APIs and services into their solutions
- Stay uptodate and strive to be an industry expert with the latest technologies and developer technology trends
- Work adapt and grow on a cuttingedge team of likeminded individuals working together to improve and challenge the statusquo
Requirements
- 1 years of experience with at least one current software development platform such as web JavaScript iOS Android .NET Java Node.js REST Python or others
- Experience with documentation workflows that use any of the following: Markdown YAML JSON HTML CSS JSX/MDX or HTML templates
- Experience with GitHub git version control tools and workflows
- Understanding of REST services and experience with RESTful APIs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
- Bachelor in GIS computer science or related fields like the physical or social sciences
