Shift:Fulltime.

Salary:$3728 $5241 Monthly. The salary does not include an onsite 24/7 facility 5 premium.


The Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) has a vacancy for a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 (JRO2 that provides security and safety services for residents staff and visitors at the Woodinville Community Facility a minimumsecurity transitional group home serving youth residents ages 18 25. The Opportunity:

Working in a Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR) Minimum Security Community Facility that serves adjudicated youth you will assist counselors on the floor be a role model to our youth residents and intervene if necessary when conflicts arise and ultimately ensure a safe and secure environment for our youth to prosper. You will serve as a director mentor for JRO1 security staff.


Some of what you will do:


Required Qualifications:

The goal class is a Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 however we will consider candidates with a path to meet the qualifications through an InTraining plan. Selected candidates must advance to the goal classification of Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 within 12 months of hire.

If hiring at theJuvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2level:
  • One 1 year of relevant experience (fulltime equivalency) in counseling criminal justice juvenile justice education psychology sociology behavioral health or social service.
OR
  • Two 2 years of college.
If hiring with an InTraining plan at the Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 1 Level:
One 1 year (fulltime equivalency) of demonstrated work experience or volunteer work.


In addition to those required qualifications our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:

  • Understanding of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices and principles
  • Experience providing cognitive/behavioral therapeutic interventions.
  • Competency in relating to clients from diverse backgrounds and cultural groups.
  • Knowledge of basic juvenile correctional system rehabilitation objectives in juvenile institutions basic interviewing and counseling theories and techniques basic concepts fundamentals and principles of individual and group behaviors introductory psychology of deviant behavior and crisis intervention methods and techniques.
  • Ability to obtain pertinent information during interviews assist in the rehabilitation of juvenile offenders apply rules regulations and procedures appraise situations and remain calm and in control in crises and deescalate situations.
