We are searching for a Senior Accident & Health and Contingency Reinsurance Underwriter in London to support our short tail specialty Treaty book consisting of A&H Contingency Fine Art & Specie and Political Violence and Terrorism which is predominantly Syndicate market business in London.

This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.

Core Responsibilities:

• Profitably manage and develop a significant Accident & Health and Contingency Treaty Reinsurance portfolio. An ability to lead and influence terms is paramount both on a Proportional and Excess of Loss basis. The role requires a blend of both technical expertise and experienced relationship management and the candidate should be equally comfortable liaising with actuarial colleagues or meeting senior representatives of clients and brokers.
• Work with our colleagues across other business units to opine and advise on Accident & Health and Contingency opportunities throughout the organisation.
• To access the suitability of risks under the supervision of the CUO giving consideration to cycle management exposure management and above all profitability.
• To maintain a focus on building and strengthening Everests relationships with ceding companies and brokers.
• To serve as the primary link with the Actuarial team on both pricing and reserving matters.
• Manage accumulations across the group reporting appropriately and in a timely fashion to the London Executive Committee and Head Office.
• Contribute to underwriting meetings quarterly business reviews business planning and annual strategy meetings.
• Travel and audit as appropriate.
• Assist in managing training and mentoring underwriting Assistants and junior colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience underwriting A&H and Contingency business in the London market either direct or reinsurance
• Ambitious mind set
• Strong broker relationships
• Preferably ACII qualified
