Role/Department

The First Line of Defense Operational Resilience SME will support the Operational Resilience Program and be responsible for the oversight reporting and of related initiatives across the Enterprise. The successful candidate will work with resilience team leads and wider business units on the delivery of key projects to enhance Northern Trusts Risk and Control frameworks and to provide guidance to other stakeholders.

The key responsibility of the role:

  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify prioritize and align Important Business Service capabilities based on both their impact and strategic importance

  • Key lead in business dependency oversight as well as the monitoring of risks and vulnerabilities across all services. This will include input into reporting for internal risk committees and external supervisory bodies investigation into issues / areas of potential risk and the tracking of any required remediating actions

  • Support the review and oversight of compliance to Operational Risk Policies and Standards

  • Lead project deliverables with manageable risks and resource requirements

  • Act as a support for colleagues with less experience

  • Monitor and analyze impact of internal and external change on the efficacy of resiliency planning; educate responsible parties on additional risk introduced to related processes and the relevant actions to be taken

Skills/ Experience

The successful candidate will benefit from having;

  • Strong knowledge ofconcepts relating to operational resiliency business continuity management and disaster recovery as well as related governance mechanisms including corporate risk policies and standards

  • Previous related experience in the practical application of the above concepts

  • Strong understanding of risk management practices and how they apply in Financial Servicesorganizations including the impact of regulation as it relates to operational resiliency

  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of resiliency regulations jurisdictional requirements and guidelines for Financial Services organizations

  • Ability to analyze large volumes of data and organize logically to produce actionable insights

  • Previous experience in working on complex multiyear change programs

  • Strong crossfunctional collaboration and communication skills demonstrated by the ability to achieve measurable outcomes

  • Experience of working in rapidly changing and ambiguous environments in addition to being comfortable working autonomously.

  • Familiarity with Intelligent Automation tools such as Power BI and Power Automate
