This position is also responsible for providing public service relating to property assessment information and representing the Assessors Office in Board of Property Tax Appeals hearings.

PROPERTY APPRAISER TRAINEE:
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma / GED
Minimum Experience Level
None
Substitution Note: Any combination of experience or education equivalent to two years in a field that would demonstrate the capacity to work as an appraiser as determined by the County. Examples include property appraisal public or business administration real estate finance civil engineering urban planning or other related experience.
Certifications
Certification as a Registered Appraiser by the Oregon Department of Revenue is required within 1 year of hire and must be maintained by continuing education. ORS 308.010; Signing a Certificate of Confidentiality is required under ORS 308.4133.
Drivers License
Oregon Drivers License required within 30 days of hire.
Desirable Qualifications:Associates degree or higher level of education in related coursework preferred: property appraisal real estate technology engineering or forestry technology business administration or other related field. 1 2 years experience in an Oregon County Office preferred.
PROPERTY APPRAISER 1:
Minimum Education Level
Bachelors degree or equivalent with major course work in Business Administration Accounting Real Estate Engineering or related field
Minimum Experience Level

Substitution Note:Associate of Science Degree in property appraisal or real estate technology or three years work experience in real estate or business administration affording a knowledge of real property valuation or successful completion of an approved two year training program as a County Property Appraiser Trainee.
Certifications
