Help support Parks and Recreation in their mission to enhance the quality of life for all through the stewardship of public land and parks and to provide quality recreational experiences. The hiringamountfor this position is $16.50 an hour.This is a nonexempt temporary (variable/limitedhour) position and is not eligible for city benefits.
This position provides assistance in the operation of Aquatic Programs by performing responsible facility operations maintenance clerical and program support to ensure the highest level of customer service in accordance to facility and program policy and standard operating procedures. Specifically the Aquatics Program Aide will assist aquatic instructors and coaches with Learn to Swim programs and directing aquatic participants. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is under direct supervision within one functional area and of a routine nature. Reports to a P&R Operations Specialist or designated Program staff.Primarily and most frequently the work done here is under direct supervision within one functional area and of a routine nature. Minimum Qualifications:
Physical requirements of this position as outlined by the Department of Labor: MEDIUM: work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
This position may be required to work weekends nights holidays standby/oncall and/or emergency oncall.
Position may require driving a Cityowned vehicle and is subject to the vehicle use policy and procedures. This is a safety sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol testing for preemployment reasonable suspicion postaccident and random testing.
Dependent upon assignment a majority of time spent in this position involves outside work which may involve extreme temperatures extreme brightness chemicals/hazardous waste and/or bloodborne pathogens. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
