Responsible for delivering quality patient care and providing excellent customer service. Provides therapeutic recreational and leisure activities to patients including the development of individual treatment plans. Documents patient assessment participation in group activities and progress toward goals. The Recreation Therapist within the scope of their license must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide service appropriate to behavioral health age groups according to chronological age developmental age and/or psychosocial maturity. The primary function is to facilitate the development or maintenance of physical social emotional cognitive and behavioral skills in the patient population served.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreationor a related field. Completion of an Internship under a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
Required length and type of experience:
One year of work experience preferred in a behavioral health program.
Required licensure certification or registry:
Licensed by the State of Ohio as a Recreational Therapist
Obtain certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) within 612 months of employment.
