Position Description:
TheIT Operations Engineer IIroleis to support the stable operation of theoperational districtsnetworkand end user devices.This includesassisting inplanning designing installing configuring maintaining and optimizing all network hardware software and communication links.The IT OperationsEngineers/technology field service engineerswill also diagnose resolveand documentallhardwaresoftware andnetworkissues. Resolveproblemsin a timely and accuratemanner provide end user training and support where required.
Position Qualifications:
Formal Education & Certification
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or related plus at least 2 years field experience and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Certifications in ITIL preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
- Extensive handson technical knowledge of network systems protocols and standards such as Ethernet Token ring LAN WAN frame relay xDSL TCP/IP ATM T1 802.11x and so on.
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory Services Windows Server OS Office 365 VMware and Clustering technologies.
- Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools and Cisco technologies like AMP Umbrella NAM AnyConnect.
- Extensive client/server and operating system experience including Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT) server management.
- Experience working in a switched and routed environment.
- Hardware software and network connection troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware.
- Skilled at installing/configuring hubs switches routers bridges etc.
- Knowledge of antivirus software firewalls intrusion detection systems and other network security measures.
- Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Construction industry software knowledge in products such as AutodeskBIM Modeling scheduling tools Asta & Oracle P6 Bluebeam PDF Onscreen Takeoff a plus.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft software including SharePoint Azure Exchange Intune Teams.
- Telephony knowledge of Poly Crestron and AMX room AV systems a plus.

Essential Duties:
Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate withIT staffto create optimal network design topologies and configurations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies for end user devices such as: desktop laptop and mobile.
- Work to meet service level agreements with end users.
- Aidandsupportin development of business continuity and disaster recovery planswhilemaintainingcurrent knowledge of plan executables.
- Respond to emergency network outagesin accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy of documentation proceduresmanuals andchecklistsfor network installationsincluding data voice and video systems.
Procurement & Deployment
- Support development and implementation of networking projects and newtechnologyinitiatives.
- Conduct research on network products services protocols and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend for purchase networking hardware and software products.
- Write technical specifications for purchase of networking hardware and software products.
- Maintain uptodate knowledge of networking contracts and supervisecontractbased installations.
Operational Management
- Install configure test maintain monitor and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware software networked peripheral devices cabling and networking hardware and software products.
- Assist Tier 1 Service Desk to work with end users in escalation of IT issuesin theITticketing system
- Maintain servers including email print and backup serversand their associated operating systems and software.
- Maintain security solutions including firewall antivirus and intrusion detection systems.
- Maintain all network hardware and equipment including routers switchesWAPs and UPSs.
- Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
- Receive and respond to incoming callsSMS and/or emails regarding network connectivity problems.
- Perform onsite analysis diagnosis and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users.Recommend and implement corrective hardware and/orsoftware solutions including offsite repair.
- Maintain proper end user configuration IT hardware inventory licensing and PC/end user onboarding and offboarding of all IT equipment including PC setup troubleshooting and security controls
- Perform server and security audits.
- Perform system backups and recovery.
End User Services (EUS) Specialization
This position requires expertise in EUS replacing networkrelated responsibilities with a focus on the following:
- Design manage and enforce endpoint standards images policies patching and software distribution using SCCM and Intune.
- Coordinate testing creation and deployment of standardized software packages and updates.
- Identifies trends proactively addresses recurring enduser issues and develops selfservice resources knowledge bases and training to enhance user proficiency.
- Manage endtoend IT onboarding/offboarding including account provisioning equipment setup and recovery access management and collaboration with HR and IT Security.
- Establish AV hardware and software standards coordinate remote AV monitoring and manage software configuration and documentation.
- Administer user accounts licensing permissions and configurations within Microsoft 365 applications aligning with enterprise standards.
- Oversee asset inventory tracking hardware/software lifecycle management procurement warranty management and asset disposal processes.
