We are looking for a software engineering lead to join our Xometry buyer experience organization. You will be responsible for leading a fullstack team of developers to build new features and maintain existing systems that drive the experience of buying custom manufacturing via the Xometry website. This is a mixed role that will include both direct technical contribution as well as managing a team of engineers. You will work closely with a product manager and design team to continue growing Xometry capabilities and the buyer experience of online custom manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- HandsOn Technical Leadership: Adopt a lead by example approach by actively coding and troubleshooting.
- Leadership & Teaching: You will serve as a guide and supervisor to engineers on your team teaching and mentoring them to grow their skills.
- Code Review: You will do code review and mentor others within the organization to perform good code reviews.
- Operational Excellence: Guarantee the delivery of superior software that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations while aligning with the strategic business timelines.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in software development in a fastpaced productdriven environment.
- Experience with a marketplace product is highly desired.
- Strong technical expertise. You will be expected to lead a fullstack team that works in the following technologies:
Python and TypeScript backends
Frontend web technologies including HTML/DOM/CSS React and TypeScript
Cloud hosting services especially AWS
Rust
Containerization technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) - Good leadership and communication skills
Location Requirement:
- Ability to commute to our Boston MA office to work onsite for at least 3 days a week.
