Consultant Psychiatrist Forensic Mental Health

Location: Alice Springs NT
Salary Package: Up to $347549 (inclusive of allowances)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join a Mental Health Alcohol and Other team in the Central Australia region. This role offers a rare opportunity to work across both forensic and community mental health settings in one of the most unique and culturally rich parts of Australia.

This position is ideal for a specialist who is passionate about making a difference in remote and Indigenous health while contributing to teaching and training programs for medical students and psychiatry registrars.

  • Senior Specialist Clinician: $314354 $347549
  • Additional allowances:
    • Professional Training Allowance: $21603 $27967

About the Role

  • Deliver expert psychiatric care across community and forensic settings 50:50 split).
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to improve mental health outcomes.
  • Contribute to teaching psychiatry to medical students and postgraduate trainees.
  • Flexible working arrangements considered.

What Youll Bring

  • Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent.
  • Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • A genuine interest in rural and remote health and a commitment to culturally sensitive care.
