Job Description

The Opportunity

As an Operations Leader Energy you are responsible for the transformation continuous improvement and ongoing delivery of assessment operations for the Energy technologies including Electrical Gas and Boiler Pressure Vessel and Refrigeration. Through proactive engagement with safety officers clients and stakeholders you maintain an indepth understanding of safety performance client challenges and employee needs. You will be responsible for the development and delivery of operational plans for the Energy technologies aligned provincially to the Operations strategic vision and business performance priorities.

Location: Kelowna BC (hybrid work environment)
Reports to: Director Operations

As an Operations Leader Energy you will:

RiskBased Assessment Operations

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a provincial assessment operations plan that drives longterm program optimization and sustainability; advance and execute a riskbased assessment program; manage operations processes and policies in alignment with strategic objectives and a focus on risk reduction.
  • Explore new business and service delivery models through environmental scans industry trends historical data forward looking technologies and make recommendations for strategic development and monetization; understand and champion safety system risks to promote consistent delivery of legislative and regulatory requirements including inspection audit compliance monitoring and investigations.

Management & CrossFunctional Leadership

  • Manage directly reporting employees and all related people practices including recruitment selection development performance management and discipline in accordance with policies and the collective agreement(s); structure the teams thinking drive visibility and facilitate alignment to promote shared responsibility of business objectives; improve regional and provincial team communication and collaboration.
  • Identify facilitate and implement crossfunctional initiatives; assess and develop strategic partnerships with multiple stakeholders leadership and internal and external partners to take ownership of all aspects of project and program priorities: business case scope costs schedule risks issues decisions interdependencies and milestones.
  • Oversee and represent regional operations as the primary leadership for programs policies local government relations emergency management events and client issues and inquiries. Act as lead liaison for assigned technologies and programs. Other related duties as assigned.

Data Insights & Business Process Improvement

  • Track data formulate and test hypotheses and translate trends and analyses into recommendations and results; collaborate and drive strategic change through market research communications testing and product development; manage business transformation efforts.
  • Develop and evaluate metrics and performance indicators to improve business performance optimize business actions and achieve strategic milestones; champion and manage processes to reduce complexities and enhance assessment operations; plan and manage budgets and expenses.

Knowledge Skills & Experience you have:

  • Degree in engineering process engineering public policy business administration or related field or equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • People leadership experience in managing complex operations.
  • 8 years of progressive experience in a similar role and supplemented by leadership experience in risk assessment program management leading change and process transformations and data analysis for business and policy development.
  • Advanced analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills to identify assess and take action to address challenges manage ambiguity and develop integrated solutions.
  • Credible and visionary thinker not afraid to challenge the status quo inspire change and influence and engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Creative and curious effectively communicates business problems and relentlessly pursues scalable innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience in executing large initiatives with complex requirements and multiple stakeholders. Ability to persuade adapt and manage uncertainty and shifting priorities in fastpaced environments.
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment and use common software.
  • A Valid BC Drivers License and a willingness to travel (A drivers abstract will be requested).
