Job Description
About the Role:
The Building Maintenance Assistant role is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about handson work repairs and general handyman tasks. Based in Mississauga ON this entrylevel position plays a crucial role in keeping our facility in excellent working order.
As a Building Maintenance Assistant you will be responsible for performing general repairs conducting routine inspections and assisting with maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient workplace. Youll gain experience in a variety of handyman work including basic plumbing electrical repairs carpentry drywall patching painting and equipment maintenance.
Working closely with Production Management and senior technicians youll receive guidance and mentorship to expand your skill set in facility maintenance. If you enjoy problemsolving fixing things and taking on handson projects this is the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs such as fixing doors patching drywall repairing leaks replacing light fixtures and painting.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues with plumbing electrical systems HVAC and structural components.
- Assist in maintaining the facility by assembling furniture installing shelving and troubleshooting minor equipment issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace following all safety protocols.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and document completed tasks.
- Support inventory management by organizing tools supplies and maintenance equipment.
- Assist senior technicians with more complex repair projects to learn best practices.

- Physical Readiness: Capable of lifting heavy objects standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication to log maintenance activities report issues and collaborate with the team.
Basic Requirements:
- Valid G/G2 drivers license and insurance
- Clean drivers abstract
- Working at Heights Certificate (an asset but not required)
Must be willing to work onsite at our Mississauga facility.
