Job Classification Summary
The Town of Wickenburg Police Department is seeking dedicated and qualified candidates for the position of Police Recruit. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team committed to public safety and community service.
Salary:$27.94 per hour
Hiring Process:- STEP 1 National Testing Network.All candidates will register on the National Testing Network (NTN) schedule and complete the Law Enforcement test.
- STEP 2 AZPOST. Create an account with the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) application and complete an application.
- STEP 3 Town of Wickenburg Application. Complete a Town of Wickenburg application through the towns Job Posting Page.
- STEP 4 Physical Testing. Successful candidates will be invited to complete the Coopers Physical Test (NonGender NonAge).
- STEP 5 Oral Board Interview.Qualified applicants will be invited to an Oral Board Interview.
- STEP 6 Background Interview & Investigation.The most qualified applicants will be contacted by a police department background investigator via email mail and/or telephone to be scheduled for a background interview.
- STEP 7 Polygraph.The most qualified applicants will be given a polygraph examination (lie detector test) administered by a trained professional examiner.
- STEP 8 Psychological.Applicants will be evaluated by a licensed psychologist.
- STEP 9 Medical Examination.Applicants will undergo a complete medical examination administered by an AZPOST certified physician.
- STEP 10 Final Offer of Employment. Upon successful completion of the entire employment process applicants may receive a final offer of employment.
PRIOR TO SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION ALL APPLICANTS MUST:- Register on the National Testing Network (NTN) as well as:
- Schedule and complete the Law Enforcement test
- Complete the Public Safety SelfAssessment
- Complete the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)
- Create an account with the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST) and complete an application.
- Complete a Town of Wickenburg Application through the towns Job Posting Page.
- Submit the following with your Town of Wickenburg Application:
- Resume
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proof of U.S. citizenship (e.g. birth certificate)
- Form DD 214 (military personnel only)
- Provide AZPOST Form ID number

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience
- Must be at least 20 years old and 6 months at time of NTN Law Enforcement test
- Valid Drivers License
- AZPOST certification within the time specified by the Police Chief after hire
