Noblis MSDs mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research development test and evaluation acquisition engineering systems integration inservice and fleet engineering with cybersecurity comprehensive logistics and lifecycle savings. Noblis MSD is looking to hire an Industrial Controls Systems Engineer.
The Industrial Controls Systems Engineer will develop design and life cycle manage complex machinery control system modernization efforts applied to US Navy and US Coast Guard Ships. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in Manufacturing Industrial Controls experience.
This engineers responsibilities will include:
Perform design development modeling/simulation and integration for Naval shipboard control systems applications in a lab environment.
Analyze propose and design solutions to problems for operational controls software.
Develop equipment integration designs for networking SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems) simulators/stimulators and other test tools/systems.
Implement cybersecurity best practices and hardening for industrial control systems
Create Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) designs programs and control algorithm developments.
Develop software using Java C# C Python and Visual Basic. Develop controls algorithms communication interface algorithms and Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).
Develop PLC program control projects and algorithms using Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal
Design Industrial control systems with a specific application using Rockwell ControlLogix family of devices as well as Siemens SIMATIC S71500 PLCs
Develop PLC programs using Relay Ladder Logic Structured Text Structured Control Language (SCL) using object orientated best practices.
Provide engineering for the development and maintenance of hardware and software documentation and requirements.
Develop and deploy industrial application/system user interfaces database interfaces device interfaces and related analytics.
Experience in creating diagrammatic representations of network topology designs and data flow using industrystandard tools such as Microsoft Visio
This role is onsite at the Philadelphia Navy Yard but has the potential for a hybrid work environment after initial rampup.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors including but not limited to the combination of education certifications knowledge skills competencies and experience internal and external equity location clearance level as well as contractspecific affordability organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this positionis based on full time status. For part time or oncall staff compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important its just one component of Noblis total compensation package.
