Job Description

Job Posting Summary

The Director of Digital Studio plays a crucial role in shaping the universitys digital presence through the development of engaging social media content compelling website materials and captivating videos. The incumbent will have a passion for storytelling a deep understanding of digital trends and the ability to drive engagement across various online platforms.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Content Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement comprehensive digital content strategies aligned with the universitys brand and goals
  • Conduct research to identify emerging trends and best practices in digital content creation ensuring Mercy University remains innovative and competitive

Social Media Management:

  • Create and curate engaging content for Mercy Universitys social media channels including but not limited to Facebook Twitter Instagram LinkedIn and TikTok
  • Monitor social media trends respond to inquiries and engage with the universitys online community to foster meaningful interactions and enhance brand visibility
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed to optimize reach engagement and conversion

Website Content Development:

  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of captivating website content ensuring consistency in messaging tone and branding across all digital platforms
  • Collaborate with web developers and designers to enhance user experience and accessibility keeping Mercy Universitys website current and userfriendly

Video Production:

  • Conceptualize script and produce highquality video content that showcases Mercy Universitys mission programs achievements and campus life
  • Coordinate video shoots including scheduling location scouting and talent management to ensure seamless and adherence to project timelines
  • Edit and postproduce videos using industrystandard software optimizing content for various platforms and audiences

CrossFunctional Collaboration:

  • Partner with various departments and stakeholders across the university to gather content stories and updates for digital distribution
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty staff and student ambassadors on digital content creation best practices and brand guidelines

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience 5 years) in digital content creation social media management and video production preferably in a higher education or nonprofit environment

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro Photoshop Illustrator) and other relevant software tools

  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms

  • Excellent project management abilities including multitasking prioritization and meeting deadlines

  • Knowledge of SEO principles web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and social media management platforms (e.g. Hootsuite Sprout Social)

  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for visual storytelling and brand consistency

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders

  • Passion for education and a commitment to promoting Mercy Universitys mission and values

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing Communications Digital Media or related field
  • Masters degree preferred
