Job Description
New Hope Group is a majority Australian owned and operated diversified energy company which is proudly based in Southeast Queensland. New Hope Group has business interests and operations spanning coal mining exploration port operations oil agriculture innovating technologies and investments.
Reporting to the Group Manager Financial Performance and Business Development the Business Analyst working closely with the Finance and Operational Site teams will support the delivery of the groups financial and investor reporting provide business analysis services to the group and support the capital management strategy.
What youll do:
- Responsible for the provision of the groups quarterly activity reports operating and financial review of halfyearly and annual reports as well as financial results and investor presentations.
- Understand and interpret the groups key performance metrics and generate appropriate messaging to the market
- Assist the Group Manager in other investor relations activities including communication with external analysts investor meetings and market analysis.
- Critically analyse business improvement initiatives to determine the groups best use of capital including NPV analysis IRR analysis and other capital management decisions.
- Support the groups commercial needs from a financial performance perspective including analysis of operational and financial metrics.
- Assist in financial modelling and scenario analysis for strategic planning.
What youll bring:
- 3 4 years relevant experience and relevant tertiary qualification (finance accounting commerce)
- Metals and Mining experience (advantageous)
- Advanced excel / financial modelling skills
Highly developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to gather information and data write reports and technical documents and present to groups.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both internally and externally
- Well organised and detail orientated with strong attention to detail
