Team Leader - Purchasing

Avantor is looking for a strategic and resultsdriven Purchasing Team Leader to join the team in Mlndal Gothenburg. In this role youll lead and mentor a team of Buyers while staying operationally involved in driving excellence ensuring compliance and implementing continuous improvements in purchasing processes to meet both customer and business objectives.

This fulltime permanent position is based at our customers site in Mlndal Gothenburg. The Team

Youll lead a closeknit Purchasing Team of 9 associates including Buyers and Sources. The team is responsible for all purchasing activities ensuring scientists have the materials they need to advance research.

Youll be part of a supportive and experienced leadership team within a diverse openminded environment that values positive challenges and collaboration. Youll belong to the Lab and Production Services department supporting major pharmaceutical companies globally within the Research and Development sector of the Life Sciences industry.

What were looking for

• Education: A degree in a relevant field is beneficial yet significant work experience is pivotal

• Experience:
• A minimum of 2 years of leading and mentoring a team is essential
• Candidates should have a proven track record in purchasing or customer service. A background in a clinical regulated Pharmaceutical environment is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes including buying chemicals consumables and hazardous materials
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present material at all levels both verbally and in writing (including presentations)
• Practical knowledge and experience with Lean Sigma processes
• Proficiency in data capture analysis and reporting using various IT systems particularly Microsoft Excel and COUPA

• Lead and mentor the Purchasing Team motivating and developing them to achieve highperformance
• Accomplish HR objectives by recruiting training coaching and communicating job expectations; planning monitoring appraising and reviewing job contributions; and enforcing policies/procedures
• Collaborate with a wide range of contacts including customers suppliers and colleagues both onsite and offsite
• Perform purchasing activities such as placing purchase orders and updating the online system (COUPA) in the absence of team members.
• Manage data including capturing analysing and reporting to ensure accurate and timely decisionmaking
