The Nursing Resource Unit (NRU) at CAMH is an internal staffing team comprised of Registered Nurses Registered Practical Nurses and Program Assistants who deliver exceptional client care across all inpatient units at CAMH in the event of strategically planned and unplanned staff absences.
The NRU is seeking a fulltime temporary (until March 2026 Clinical Operations Coordination Leader (COCL) who will report to the NRU Manager and support the daytoday operations of the NRU.
Working closely with the NRU Manager the COCL will assist with the recruitment onboarding and orientation of new staff. They will also provide leadership feedback and coaching to staff; support staff compliance with CAMH policies and procedures; and follow up on complaints and incident reports.
In collaboration with the Nurse Educator(s) the COCL will identify and develop educational requirements and transitional supports for staff as well as support the implementation of evidencebased practices and rollout of corporate and quality improvement initiatives.
The COCL will also be responsible for the daytoday supervision of a team of NRU Information Specialists and maintain an effective staffing and scheduling process to ensure that inpatient units and the Emergency Department are appropriately staffed to provide safe optimal patient care. In support of this work they will track NRU metrics and utilization and effectively analyze and interpret the data; generate reports; and monitor operating costs budgets and resources.
This position is located at Queen Street and requires the candidate to work flexible hours which may include weekends and evenings.
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelors degree in nursing psychology social work healthcare administration or a related field. If in a regulated health care discipline the candidate must show proof of registration and be a member in good standing within their respective College. They will have 23 years of relevant experience in a hospital setting; previous supervisory/management experience is required.
