The Wellcome Trust is a global charitable foundation. We improve health for everyone by funding science leading policy and advocacy campaigns and building partnerships.

We plan to spend 16bn over the next ten years funding new discoveries in life health and wellbeing and taking on three global health challenges: mental health infectious disease and climate and health.

These challenges need the bold science we support but they wont be solved by science alone.

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our team on a fixed term contract.

Where in Wellcome will I be working

You will be working in the Commercial Finance Team ensuring financial performance considerations and measures are fully incorporated into delivery of Wellcomes mission reporting to a Commercial Finance Manager.

This role is part of the Commercial Finance Planning and Analysis Team who provide business partnering across the organisation to enable effective decision making manage the financial planning process as well as producing analysis and reporting for the Executive Leadership Team Board of Governors and to each area of the organisation.

What will I be doing

The purpose of this role is to integrate financial performance considerations and control measures into the successful delivery of Wellcomes mission by effectively partnering with specific areas within the organisation.

As a Finance Business Partner you will:

• Build relationships with stakeholder areas and provide relevant analysis to improve decisionmaking quality.

• Ensure delivery of insightful relevant business and financial reporting while delivering quality planning budgeting and forecasting processes.

• Challenge and support the organisation to develop robust project plans and conduct financial due diligence on institutions applying for funding.

• Ensure that appropriate financial controls are in place and operative identifying and contributing to process improvements within Wellcome and with third parties.

• Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation collaborating across departments.

Is this job for me

You will hold an ACA/ACCA/CIMA or similar qualification have experience in monthend accounting excel in advanced Excel and finance systems like Agresso/Unit4 and demonstrate strong communication detail orientation and the ability to manage workloads with a willingness to travel occasionally.

We are looking for someone who:

• Possesses ACA/ACCA/CIMA or relevant qualification and has core accounting experience particularly in monthend processes.

• Provides management accounting advice and support to stakeholders with advanced Excel and intermediate PowerPoint and Word skills.

• Experienced in using finance and analytical systems such as Agresso/Unit4 TM1 and Tableau.

• Demonstrates the ability to manage own workload effectively focusing on delivery and can work independently or as part of a team.

• Skilled in building strong relationships with stakeholders showcasing good written and verbal communication.

• Pays excellent attention to detail and is willing to undertake occasional travel if required by business needs.
