The Director of Business Travel Sales is responsible for growing existing accounts and generating new business in order to maximize transient revenue profits and market share. The Director will play a senior role in action plan development and implementation.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include adhering to the proper dress code and wearing name tag while working.
- Always comply with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Actively participate in discussion and contribute recommendations for yielding strategies in rooms. Attend rooms merchandising meetings.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding transient room revenue as determined by General Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Actively participates in business review.
- Jointly responsible with Sales team in increasing REVPAR market share.
- Review and disseminate monthly tracking of accounts.
- Responsible for communicating new account data to reservations CRO and GDS.
- Responsible for managing the RFP process for all negotiated accounts
- Maintain consistent schedule of large local travel agent and BTC presentations.
- Responsible or jointly responsible for conducting the annual customer appreciation party.
- Ensure professional and courteous service to all accounts.
- Create and develop ongoing promotions for Transient Sales Team.
- Ensure that CRO and travel agent FAM trips are scheduled and professionally conducted.
- Actively participate in trade shows as needed by hotel and corporate office.
- Develop and train transient sales manager.
- Work with Director of Sales and Revenue Manager in creating and establishing sales action plans.
- Work with the Director of Sales and Marketing and Revenue Manager in establishing monthly transient forecast.
Qualifications :
- College degree preferred and/or 3 years of industry related experience with one year of transient sales or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of CRO all GDS property PMS and GRC is helpful.
- Complete understanding of pricing and yielding policies sales and marketing promotions and sales SOPs preferred.
- Understanding of related expenses preferred
- Compute basic arithmetic.
