Job Title: Systems Administrator
Location(s): Arlington VA and Washington DC
Salary: $50000 $80000
Hours: FullTime (Onsite)

Background:
The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) provides training to employees of the Department of State and other Foreign affairs agencies in sixtyfive foreign languages regional area studies and professional disciplines including economics political science information management and management skills among others. FSI is exploring alternatives to traditional facetoface instruction and integrating Educational Technology in an effort to maximize the effectiveness efficiency and availability of training. FSIs Office of Management Information Systems (FSI/EX/OMIS) has comprehensive responsibilities for the operations and maintenance of FSIs internal computer networks and communication systems and application of the systems to meet both internal FSI needs and the data needs of other Bureaus.
Responsibilities:
- LAN Installation will include both LAN hardware and software. Installations shall strictly adhere to Department of State Diplomatic Security Configuration Standards.
- Provide installation implementation and problem resolution support for COTS and FSI custom designed applications.
- Ensure that all DS and IRM security and hardware configurations are strictly adhered to. Report security violations to FSI ISSO or FSI AISSO as soon as they are discovered. The FSI ISSO or FSI AISSO shall decide on appropriate course of action and inform the contractor of their decision. Contractor shall adhere to FSI internal processes for security violations and not attempt to circumvent these processes by raising issues to a higher authority without written approval from the COR and FSI ISSO.
- Areas of responsibility will include:
- Software Installation: Install and test new software acquired by FSI.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
- Provide technical assistance to FSI users experiencing trouble with their applications.
- Troubleshoot problems utilizing diagnostic software when possible. For problems that cannot be immediately corrected prepare an issue/instance report recommending necessary course of action to remedy situation.
- Hardware and Software Installation:
- Install and test new PC hardware and software acquired by FSI.
- Ensure that all newly installed omputers peripherals or boards are in working order and logged into the OMIS inventory.
- Install and test new PC software ensure that it is working properly and logged into the inventory.
- Interview the FSI staff to determine hardware and application needs.
- Provide telephone support to LAN users.
- Utilize ticketing system to manage tickets.

Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of four 4 years of experience is preferred.
Education Requirements:
Required High Schol Diploma
Preferred bachelors degree
