Monday Thursday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM and Friday 9:00 AM 1:00 PM. Occasional early morning evening and/or weekend hours. This is a temporary position to end on or before 6/30/2026 with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

About the Position:

We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Employer Relations Associate (Student Services Professional II). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity openness flexibility integrity and kindness.

Under the direction of the Director of Business Career Services this position provides a comprehensive set of outreach and support services for business students seeking internships and employment opportunities. The Employer Relations Associate is responsible for increasing employers awareness of business students through career fairs events oncampus visits employer partnership development job postings internships recruitment of students etc. in order to increase student opportunities to engage with employers resulting in an increase in hiring of business students. Through outreach leveraging of corporate relationships alumni and coordinated efforts with key internal partners (e.g. student organizations University Career Center Center for Internships College Department Chairs and faculty Development and Centers of Excellence) will be able to provide student support through developing an extensive pipeline of quality employers for the purpose of student internships and job opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience working both with students and with employer development as well as conducting group presentations with audiences from 5 to 300 in attendance. This position supports the online recruiting system including approving job postings and employers for the purpose of student internships and employment opportunities. Will educate and work with students on lessons learned from the employer community including best practices on recruitment processes and specific employer requirements. This role will require primarily local travel to meet with employers support student site visits and attend relevant industry networking events. This position demands an innovative outgoing eager to coordinate student and employer connections on behalf of Business Career Services and the College. Other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications

Bachelors degree or the equivalent from an accredited fouryear college or university in one of the behavioral sciences public administration business administration or a jobrelated field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A Masters degree in a jobrelated field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a yearforyear basis.

General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management research and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews and advise students individually and in groups on complex studentrelated matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing longrange program improvements. Ability to plan develop coordinate supervise and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population faculty staff and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures activities and of the overall organization.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with students and/or clients individually or in group setting. At least two years of longterm customer relationship development experience. General knowledge of community and higher education issues. Familiarity with a campus environment/higher education. High energy with superior communication presentation and negotiation/sales skills. Knowledge of social media marketing resources or career resources including LinkedIn Constant Contact Facebook Instagram Hoot Suite Handshake VMock Big Interview or other related resources. Experience with event coordination. Knowledge of Southern California employment market for business graduates. Being flexible and versatile in complying with evolving work situations. Ability to use standard office software including spreadsheet and database applications to generate analytical reports. Creativity in generating business solutions ability to multitask meet deadlines working in a fastpaced university environment. Ability to work with diverse employers student population faculty staff and public for career services matters. Ability to function effectively without immediate direction and as part of a highperformance team.

License/Certifications

A Valid California Drivers License.
